We are off to a great start of the school year!
Students have settled into their schedules and classes well. I know this is a big adjustment for the 6th graders who now have more teachers each day. Students are doing a good job getting organized and completing tasks. Ask to see their Agenda Planners and help them by checking homework each night.
We have begun our Language Arts and Reading class and are taking notes to help us with Reading Strategies used for all types of reading, fiction, non-fiction, informational text and articles.
Math class is also off to a good start. We are lucky to have a new teacher, Ms. Carkhuff teaching General Math. Check out her page on the solomonuppergraders.weeblycom
She brings some great new ideas to the Upper Grade Team! Welcome Ms. Carkhuff !! :-)
Remember to read each night for 30 minutes and keep up with recording homework and AR tests.
